GETTING THERE

Different journeys. One ski trip. Get everyone there.

Coordinate flights, trains, cars and transfers when your friends start in different places—and make the final journey to the accommodation clear.

Start with arrivals, not flight screenshots

For each journey, record who is travelling, where they are coming from, the arrival point, date and local time. A flight number is useful; the airport or station name matters just as much. Keep an outbound and return journey distinct so nobody mistakes one for the other.

Ask each traveller to check the details against their booking. Add the next part of the journey too: a shared transfer, hire car, bus or collection by a friend. The useful question is not simply “when do you land?” but “how do you get from there to the door?”

Share a transfer where it actually works

Group people by a realistic pickup place and time. Allow for the arrangements your provider requires, luggage collection and ski bags. Check the actual timetable or booking conditions before anyone commits; this guide does not assume a particular connection or a standard transfer time.

If four people share a car and another four take a train, keep those bookings separate and attach the correct people to each. Split the car or transfer cost between its passengers using the shared-expense guide, rather than adding it automatically to everybody’s holiday bill.

Share useful details and keep private ones private

The group benefits from knowing your arrival point and plans, even when you have booked independently. Decide which details to share. Keep personal booking references and sensitive documents out of group chat unless the people receiving them actually need them.

For accommodation at different addresses, link the right arrivals to the right property. Our group ski-accommodation guide covers guest lists and arrival instructions. Put a shared dinner or key collection in the trip itinerary once the arrangements are settled.

Give the last leg an owner

Name the person checking the transfer booking, the person contacting the host and the person arriving first. A shared task list makes those jobs visible without making one organiser chase every detail. Agree where updates should go if someone’s plans change.

Save the accommodation address, contact details and your own travel information before leaving. Recheck providers’ current instructions close to departure. When there is a payment still due for a shared booking, track it separately with the deposit and final-payment plan.
